Finally, Resident Evil 4 got a remake and the results certainly got a positive response from gamers who have played this game. So, are you curious about why Resident Evil 4 is still the game of choice for gamers? Coincidentally, ExGamesplay also wants to review this game, rather than taking a long time, let's get straight to the point!

Become A Good Police Back To Find The President's Child

Just a little story for those of you who don't know, we are here to play the handsome policeman, namely Leon S Kennedy who is assigned to find Ashley Graham, the president's daughter if you've played with him, you already know what it's like. The story is set 6 years after the chaos that occurred in Racoon City, where Leon has been assigned to find the president's son who has been kidnapped by a mysterious cult.

However, it seems that an unexpected incident occurred during his mission trip, where Leon had to be stranded in a village with unfriendly residents, making Leon have to face them first to save Ashley. So, of course, there are lots of other things to go through, so if you're new to this game, get ready!

Improved Graphics Make It More Horror

It's called a remake, of course, we already expect that the graphics presented will improve a lot. Of course, there is no doubt about this, when we try to play it, the details, textures, and framerate increase. Coupled with the Ray Tracing feature which makes the graphics feel more immersive.

As for the atmosphere itself, it now feels more spooky than the first (maybe because the graphics are better and more detailed). But, because we're playing it on the PS5 version, the graphic settings might be a bit limited. If you play on the PC version, maybe the graphic settings can be even wider compared to the PS version, and even the framerate can be higher by activating the FSR or DLSS feature.

So far, the spookiness has been felt with great graphics, especially when we are surprised people, so we are often surprised when we play. The way to play itself is more varied, of course, compared to before. Even the knife here can break, so be careful and love your knife, because it will come in handy when you need it.

Several places are slightly different from their predecessors, such as the stairs going down to the house in the first house, so we might be able to explore further, but yes, the name is underground, dark and if there is a surprise, the damage is ++.

More Varied Gameplay, There's Parry!

For gameplay, of course, there are some new features, but of course, there are still some old features here, such as the death kick after the enemy is stunned. But most of them have now been upgraded with several features like now you can shoot while walking, so it's more comfortable when shooting enemies, even auto-save is here. As for the previous game, if you wanted to shoot, you could only shoot while standing, unable to move, looking very stiff, and easily attacked by enemies.

However, something is interesting about this newest game, namely now that Resident Evil 4 has introduced aim assist to help those of you who are less able to play shooter games to aim the weapon more easily, and the weapon wheel, where this feature helps you to change weapons so that It's easier, you don't have to open inventory first. For the PlayStation version, it's quite easy, all you have to do is press the D-pad to change guns, knives, and grenades. Unfortunately, it's not possible to recover items, so if you want to heal, you have to open your inventory first.

There is another interesting thing, namely that we can now parry to fend off enemy attacks with the right timing. This feature can be said to have pluses and minuses, whereas for the pluses we can use this to fend off enemy attacks and push them. Now for the minus, this has something to do with one more feature, namely the knife in this newest game has durability and can be destroyed when used too often. This also has an impact on parry because to fend off attacks we need our knife.

But there is something quite unfortunate, namely QTE aka Quick Time Event, where this feature when you get a surprise attack in the middle of a cutscene is gone. Capcom itself has informed them that they will remove this feature. But some events can still trigger this QTE when we fight to avoid something deadly or when trying to escape enemy attacks.

And there's more that is most important where this makes it easier for us when adventuring, namely the map. This Resident Evil 4 Remake map is very helpful because it's quite detailed and easy to understand so it saves quite a bit of time when you are wandering around looking for jewelry, merchants, and destinations without having to go back and forth looking for a way first, except to solve puzzles or have to look for keys, OK? you have to find out for yourself where it is located.

Conclusion

RE fans and gamers are certainly happy to hear that their favorite game, Resident Evil 4, has been released. The graphics offered can also provide better detail and animation than the previous game. As for the gameplay itself, of course, there have been changes, but some things from the previous game are still here, so there's a bit of nostalgia because it's familiar when you play it again.

In our opinion, Capcom has succeeded in bringing Resident Evil 4 Remake, where the graphics have improved, adding several new elements that make the game more exciting while keeping some of the old elements with classic gameplay. The story is still the same where we have to save Ashley. But for those of you who want to explore more, there are still sidequests and minigames with some prizes if you complete them, of course.
