Diablo II: Resurrected Open Beta - Amazing Nostalgia

Diablo II: Resurrected Open Beta - Amazing Nostalgia

Nostalgia is a very beautiful word and is also terrible. Because of nostalgia, everyone will always remember what they have ever tasted. Just like Diablo II: Resurrected made by Blizzard Entertainment, was originally released in 2000 and in 2021 this received a remastered version. This time, we get the chance to give a short preview of Diablo II: resurrected.

Diablo II Resurrected Open Beta - Amazing Nostalgia

Blizzard Entertainment is a developer and an American video game publisher based in Irvine, California. As a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, the company was founded on February 8, 1991, with the name Silicon & Synapse by Michael Morhaime, Frank Pearce, and Allen Adham.

Blizzard Entertainment has made several of the best franchises, such as World of Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft, and Overwatch. The ExGamesPlay team gets the opportunity to try beta from Diablo II: Resurrected, here is the discussion.

Preview Diablo II: Resurrected Open Beta

In this game, you can choose one of the Heroes from the 7 heroes available. I chose Druid Hero because personally, the Hero fits my playstyle. Druids can call animals or plants to help you face existing enemies.

When entering the game, you will get a summary of what happens in the previous sequel. You will start the game in a remote village and from there, your trip will begin.

The gameplay is not far from the original version, namely through overhead. In this Remaster version, Blizzard Entertainment only updated the graphics and function of the original game network without changing the item system or the balance of the game.

For those of you who miss the old Visual Diablo II, they also add an old visual choice and visual remaster. This option will change the entire UI instantly without loading at all.

The cutscene of this game has also been significantly destroyed that you can feel the visual HD. Blizzard Entertainment has supported the game with 4K resolution and features 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound.

I also had time to try the Dungeon feature of this game and I was honestly impressed with their improvisation. Dungeon feels darker, scary, and realistic than the old version. I was even afraid when trying to conquer a dungeon alone.

There is a shared stash

In addition, Blizzard Entertainment also adds the Shared Stash feature. This feature allows you to transfer items between your characters. I haven't tried this feature, but I can confirm that the shared stash slot is classified as very large.

This Remaster version also reminded me of using attribute points and skills, the system even reminded me that the addition of points will be permanent unless we reset the special NPC character.

Diablo II Resurrected Open Beta - There is a shared stash

The multiplayer feature itself is classified as very crowded. Even all lobby can you access without worrying about the password. I tried a lobby where the lobby had 20 active players. And I honestly left away with their progress, where they had reached Act II (compared to me who was still left in Act I).

Another interesting feature is that you can import the savings files from the original Diablo II and can continue your progress again.

A summary

Overall, I was very satisfied with Open Beta from Diablo II: Resurrected. Even though I only play it for 1 day, this game can provide all the information I need in an instant.

There are still many more that I can explore in this game, considering that I just reached the end of Act I. But because time is not supportive, then I can only give a preview like this.

I recommend to those who want to feel nostalgia to play Diablo II again. New players can also try this game, especially for those who like complex RPG games that use POV overhead.

Diablo II: Confured resurrected will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Battle.net) on September 23, 2021.
