Realme Book Review - Ultrabook $ 799 Worth Buy
What's wrong with some of the smartphone vendors lately? It feels like almost simultaneously trying to offer a new type of device, a laptop, with a different price segment. This time with Realme who had just launched the realme book.
Yes actually if you think about it, it might take advantage of the moment. The pandemic situation now requires the community to work, study, or school from home. As a result, most must use computers or laptops themselves, including to create digital content that requires high performance.
These factors make Realme design a laptop called Realme Book. Despite having a very stylish design, this laptop is designed for young creators. Not shocked, so, considering that it already has a qualified specification that ensures that it can accommodate the needs of young creators.
Like a laptop review before, of course, I save a little skepticizing when you first use the realme book. Again, this is the first laptop, so it's natural that such a shortage in some parts. Is it true? Here's the full review.
Design
It's easy for me to say that realme books include one of the most stylish laptops in the price segment. The thickness is only 14.9mm, while the weight is less than 1.5kg. Not the lightest, indeed, but with the notes of the body use the aluminum material.
Make the realme book feel very sturdy when held - I am not worried when lifting it even though it only holds one corner end, because the body is minimal flexing. A little value is less just the mechanism to open the screen. When opened with one hand, the bottom is still slightly lifted.
This is a plus value, the screen can be opened almost close to 180 degrees, making it more flexible to use. The Real Blue One option also looks different, but it's still elegant. Use a finishing that can match the former fingerprint, just see if it is seen as close to close range.
One plus value I want to add is the realme decision to make the body of the body of the Realme Book Clean without stickers. Everything is placed hidden on the bottom body - in my opinion, a proper decision.
Screen
When opened, I was immediately greeted with a 14-inch screen that had a very thin bezel. Even the bottom bezel parts are also designed quite thin, making the screen ratio to the body reach 90%. Resolution? Not only Full HD but 2k aka 1440p.
Not just a high-resolution origin, the realme screen book uses the IPS panel with 100% color coverage of SRGB, protected Gorilla Glass, and given the oleophobic layer to be more fingerprint. When viewed, the color saturation looks very pampering to the eyes.
It is thanks to the use of a glossy panel that allows content to look more clear. Deficiency? The screen ratio is more modern, which is 3: 2. Facilitate the multitasking process, although it is indeed used to watch movies, the black part above and below will look wider. For me it is not so problem, considering the dimensions are quite large.
Port & connectivity
The main obstacle to a thin laptop or ultrabook can generally be found in this part. In my opinion, the realme book is still quite okay in terms of the port. There is no microSD card slot, but at least the choice taken is quite universal.
On the right, you will still find a USB-A 3.0 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. While on the left, there are two USB-C ports, one of which supports Thunderbolt standards 4. That is, this laptop can be paired into a high-resolution external monitor until even the external GPU.
The keyboard realme book is also classified as other ultrabook standards, it doesn't have the deepest travel key, but it's also easy to get used to it. At least it has the right layout and has two-level backlit lights.
The touchpad is very spacious, precision and comfortable, it is following the Windows Precision driver he carried. While the power button is placed separately, and multiple serves as a fingerprint sensor. In a dead state, just touch it once and the laptop will automatically enter the home screen while detecting fingerprints. Very practical.
Performance
The realme book is available in the Core-i3 and Core-i5 options, both of them use the latest generation or 11th-gen. This one unit is the Core i5-1135G7 variant, with a 4-core 8-thread CPU plus an Intel Iris XE graphics card.
This 8GB RAM capacity that has been LPDDR4x dual-channel is likely to release for office needs or create content. It's still okay to open a lot of tabs in Microsoft Edge while accessing other applications, but RAM will be constant to exceed 80%.
While the type of PCIe NVME SSD 512GB used is not canned, because it has a high-speed equivalent to a laptop much more expensive. The unique thing I found, this SSD has been divided into two partitions, with a 100GB system and the rest for data. Just unique, because other laptops generally only have one partition at the beginning.
For office needs, it is certainly more than enough. What about gaming? I can still play Forza Horizon 4 smoothly on this laptop, as long as it uses the recommended graphics settings, plus a resolution that is reduced.
This laptop also rarely feels hot or sounds a fan sound. It pinned two fans and two wide hot distributor pipes. It seems like working optimally.
Other features
Then how for the latest use like video calls via zoom? The 720p camera on the screen, has standard quality, nothing special. While the two microphones on the left and right function are quite well, plus special software to reduce noise around.
For audio quality, 2W stereo speakers located in the bottom body can sound very fast. But even though it has been powered by Harman plus the DTS effect, his voice was a little sudden when used to playing pop music and the like. My guess is because the sound effects are not optimal.
Oh yes, this laptop is a fast performance, the sound of a silent fan, plus a screen that can light up in less than one second when it's just opened. Realme also mentioned if this first laptop will support Windows 11 later it will be officially available.
Battery
With a capacity of 54Wr, Realme claims 11 hours of local video playback & 8.5 hours of office work simulation. The reality is not much different from the promised.
In the use of my style, accessing office applications with 50% brightness and Better Battery mode, the average can last up to 8 hours. There may be another laptop that can hold longer, but keep in mind, the realme book has a much higher screen resolution.
So that value has been relatively good. In the sales package, the 65W adapter is quite small, with a USB-C to USB-C cable, and can contain 50% power in a 30-minute range. Uniquely, you can also use a 30W adapter belonging to a particular smartphone, so it doesn't need to carry two different chargers.

Maybe to get to this part some are raising eyebrows, questioning why almost all parts are worth positive. Yes, I was surprised. Using the realme book as if using a laptop that was made by vendors with years of experience.
The shortcomings I found are classified as minor, do not interfere with everyday experiences. It feels realme using the right formula. Instead of releasing super affordable laptops that sacrifice quality, it is better to be in the middle segment premium with maximum features.
The realme book also managed to pass through a series of standard physical test phases, plus a 24-month warranty in all the realme official service centers.
